Swink City Directory

1914 - 1915

Incorporated town of about five hundred population, five miles west of La Junta on the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. It is the only "wet spot" in Otero County, having two saloons. It has a newspaper, commercial club and all other modern conveniences, including the large sugar factory of the Holly Sugar Company. It is surrounded by a good farming country but most of the ranchers get their mail on La Junta R.F.D. No 1 or Rocky Ford R.F.D. No 1 instead of at the Swink Post Office.
